BENGALURU : A 10-year-old boy tragically lost his life when an old, rusty gate collapsed on him at the BBMP Ground in Malleswaram. The accident took place around 4 PM on Sunday while he was there to play.
The young victim has been identified as Niranjan, a fifth-grade student at the nearby BBMP School.
Reports indicate that Niranjan was standing by the gate when it fell as it swung open, resulting in fatal head injuries. He died instantly.
Niranjan was the oldest son of Vijayakumar, an auto driver, and Priya, who live on Pipeline Road in Malleswaram.
The Malleshwaram police have visited the scene and opened an investigation into the incident.
