Agra — In a heartbreaking medical case, 14-year-old Aditya Sharma from Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, passed away after doctors at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital removed 65 foreign objects from his stomach, including batteries, screws, chains, and razor blade fragments. The boy succumbed to a severe intestinal infection shortly after a complex five-hour surgery on October 28.
According to hospital officials, Aditya was rushed to Safdarjung after visiting multiple medical facilities across Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. His father, Sanchet Sharma, said that Aditya began experiencing severe discomfort, shortness of breath, and abdominal pain on October 13, which led the family on a medical journey through Agra, Jaipur, Aligarh, and Noida in search of answers.
“Aditya never had any history of physical or mental illness,” said Sanchet Sharma, a medical representative from Hathras. “We took him to several hospitals, but his condition kept deteriorating.”
After doctors in Aligarh identified 19 foreign objects, Aditya was referred to Noida, where doctors counted 42 items. Finally, a scan at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi found a total of 65 objects. Aditya’s heart rate reached a dangerous 280 beats per minute due to the extreme stress on his body.
Despite exhaustive efforts by the medical team, Aditya died from severe infection caused by the foreign objects. His tragic passing has left his family and community devastated.
