Four members of a family were discovered deceased in their home in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Wednesday morning, and authorities suspect it was a suicide.
A suspected suicide note found at the scene suggested that the family had been experiencing significant stress following the arrest of one son in a fraud case, according to a Nagpur rural police officer. When police forced entry into the house, they found the four individuals hanging from ceiling hooks.
The deceased have been identified as 68-year-old retired teacher Vijay Madhukar Pachori, his 55-year-old wife Mala, and their two sons, Ganesh, 38, and Deepak, 36. The note, which bore the signatures of all four family members, indicated their distress over Ganesh’s earlier arrest in a fraud case filed in Madhya Pradesh.
The Narkhed police have opened an accidental death case and are continuing their investigation.
