BENGALURU: Following the digitization of khatas for 2.1 million properties in Bengaluru, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is set to introduce an app that will allow property owners to apply for e-khata from the comfort of their homes.
Currently, the BBMP is working on digitizing an additional 100,000 khatas. Those looking to request new khatas can use the app or online portal to obtain their e-khatas without visiting BBMP revenue offices. Additionally, property owners can update or correct information on their khatas through the app or portal.
BBMP staff are actively conducting GPS mapping of properties throughout the city, which has been made mandatory for proper identification. Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath emphasized that the BBMP aims to provide online services that are both faceless and contactless.
The draft e-khatas have been made available on https://www.bbmpeaasthi.karnataka.gov.in/, allowing citizens to download them online. To complete the application, property owners must provide Aadhaar e-KYC, GPS coordinates, property photographs, registration documents, an encumbrance certificate dated from April 1, 2004, and a Bescom RR number.
Those without the necessary documents can visit assistant revenue offices for assistance. Furthermore, objections to the issuance of e-khatas can be submitted within seven days and will be addressed by revenue officials, Tushar Giri Nath added.
