Mumbai, India: Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has been targeted with a threat call from Chhattisgarh, where a young man allegedly demanded ₹50 lakh as ransom, leading Mumbai Police to promptly file a case and initiate investigations. The call was made directly to the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and the caller has been identified as Faizan. Using the active phone number, authorities quickly traced Faizan’s location, and a police team has now been dispatched to Raipur to apprehend the suspect.
Known affectionately as ‘King Khan,’ Shah Rukh Khan faced similar threats last year following the massive success of his films Pathaan and Jawan, prompting an increase in his security cover to Y+ level. This upgrade means the 59-year-old actor is now escorted by six armed personnel around the clock, a significant step up from his previous two-person security detail.
Shah Rukh Khan is not alone in facing security challenges; his contemporary, Salman Khan, has also been the target of multiple threats from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, demanding apologies and substantial sums in connection to past controversies. Just this week, a 32-year-old man, Bhikha Ram (also known as Vikram) from Jalore district in Rajasthan, was arrested in Karnataka after issuing a death threat to Salman Khan. Ram, reportedly a fan of the Bishnoi gang, followed another recent warning from Lawrence Bishnoi’s associates demanding that Salman Khan apologize at a temple or pay ₹5 crore. This incident marks the second threat against the actor in just one week.
Salman Khan’s encounters with the Bishnoi gang became national news in April when suspected Bishnoi gang members allegedly opened fire outside his Mumbai home, leading to increased security measures around the actor. These recurring incidents underscore the persistent threats facing high-profile Bollywood figures, highlighting the growing need for robust security measures in the industry.
