Elon Musk has been a near-constant presence on the side of US President-elect Donald Trump.

Elon Musk’s proximity to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump was reaffirmed when he joined a call between Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Trump. Pichai reportedly dialed Trump to congratulate him on his victory over Kamala Harris in the recently concluded presidential election, according to The Information.

Musk and Trump’s Close Association

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has frequently been seen alongside Trump, earning him the nickname “First Buddy.” Musk’s role in Trump’s administration was hinted at during the campaign and has now been confirmed. He will co-lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency alongside Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

This department aims to streamline federal bureaucracy, cut wasteful spending, and overhaul regulations as part of Trump’s “Save America” movement.

Musk’s Growing Influence

Trump lauded Musk during his victory speech, calling him “an amazing guy” and highlighting his contributions to the campaign. “We have a new star, a star is born: Elon,” Trump said, noting Musk’s active participation in the election, including campaigning in Pennsylvania.

The pair were together at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on election night, monitoring results that marked Trump’s return to the Oval Office after a four-year hiatus.

Pichai’s Gesture and Musk’s Allegations

Sundar Pichai’s congratulatory call to Trump comes amid Musk’s past criticisms of Google, accusing the search giant of bias against Trump. Musk has claimed that searches for Trump often highlighted news about Kamala Harris, suggesting a skewed algorithm.

As Musk continues to cement his position as a trusted Trump ally, his influence within the administration seems set to grow, drawing attention from tech and political circles alike.
