PATNA(Bihar): Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fiercely criticized Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks concerning the Ram Mandir, labeling him a ‘repulsive repeat offender’ for disrespecting Hindu beliefs. BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad condemned Gandhi’s comments, stating that it is disgraceful to equate the ‘Prana Pratishtha’ of the Ram temple in Ayodhya with ‘naach-gaana.’
“Rahul Gandhi consistently speaks against the Ram Mandir. It is extremely shameful for him to make such a comparison,” he asserted. BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan also denounced Gandhi’s remarks, accusing the Congress leader of seizing every opportunity to demean Hindu traditions.
“Rahul Gandhi has a history of disrespecting Hindu beliefs. He never fails to insult Hindu Dharma and the millions of devotees who adhere to it,” Kesavan said, mentioning Gandhi’s previous mockery of the Sengol.
BJP leader Aparna Yadav called for an apology from Gandhi, emphasizing that the person who made such a statement likely hadn’t even witnessed the event. “Referring to Lord Ram’s ceremony as ‘naach’ is a significant mistake. He should apologize to the nation. PM Modi honored those who built the Ram Temple. The Gandhi family has had three prime ministers; did any of them do anything similar?” she questioned.
BJP leader Tirath Singh Rawat criticized Gandhi for not grasping Indian culture. “Perhaps he has yet to understand our culture. Once he does, he will appreciate these rituals. Ordinary people participated in that celebration, and the day of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony was a festive occasion filled with devotion to Lord Ram,” he stated.
The BJP’s backlash followed Gandhi’s criticism of the BJP for allegedly neglecting farmers during the Pran-Pratistha event of the Ram Mandir.
