Jaipur: A driving car caught fire on an elevated road on Saturday, causing panic among nearby commuters who attempted to avoid it, according to officials.
The vehicle’s handbrake failed after it ignited, and it began rolling down the road, colliding with a motorcyclist, fire officials reported. The driver, Jitendra Jangid, explained to reporters that he had parked on the elevated road in the Sodala area and noticed smoke coming from the bonnet.
After exiting the car, it rolled away due to the failed handbrake. The flaming vehicle struck a motorcyclist while other people tried to steer clear of it, officials stated. Firefighters from the 22 Godam area responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, although the car was completely destroyed, Fire Officer Dinesh Kumar noted.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, he confirmed.
