New Delhi: A man has been arrested in Delhi for assaulting another individual who reportedly asked him not to urinate in public. The incident took place on Friday in North Delhi’s Model Town area and was captured on CCTV footage.
The video shows the accused getting off a two-wheeler and approaching a man sleeping on the footpath. He wakes the man and begins to beat him with a stick while two of his friends wait on the bike. After attacking him for about 20 seconds, the assailant starts to leave but then returns to strike him again for another 20 seconds before fleeing the scene with his companions.
Police initiated an investigation after reviewing the CCTV footage and identified the suspect as Aryan, who works as a servant in a nearby house. According to officials, the incident stemmed from an altercation the previous day. On Thursday, Aryan was urinating openly near a park when the victim, Ramfal—who works at a local shop—confronted him and tried to stop him. An argument ensued between the two over the matter.
