New Delhi, October 17: A shocking chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police has unveiled a chilling plot involving a ₹ 25 lakh contract to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The chargesheet, which names five individuals, indicates that the contract was orchestrated by a gang led by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Details of the Conspiracy
According to the chargesheet, the accused had plans to acquire sophisticated weapons, including AK-47, AK-92, M-16, and the Turkish-made Zigana, which was used in the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The conspirators were reportedly recruiting minors for the hit and had multiple operatives tracking Khan’s movements across various locations, including his Bandra home, Panvel farmhouse, and Goregaon Film City.
Operational Timeline
The investigation revealed that the plot to murder Salman Khan was developed between August 2023 and April 2024.
- Surveillance: About 60 to 70 individuals were allegedly monitoring the actor’s activities.
- Execution Plan: The designated shooter, Ajay Kashyap alias AK, was in charge of executing the hit, having conducted reconnaissance to assess the actor’s security measures.
Arms Deal with a Pakistan-Based Dealer
The accused, identified as Sukkha, was arrested in Panipat, Haryana. He reportedly negotiated with a Pakistan-based arms dealer, Dogar, via video call, displaying the AK-47 and other firearms. The deal involved a 50% advance payment, with the remaining amount to be paid upon delivery in India.
Connection to Gangsters Abroad
The chargesheet further reveals that the shooters were awaiting instructions from Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi. The plan included a retreat to Kanyakumari post-assassination, where they intended to flee to Sri Lanka by boat and then to a country beyond the reach of Indian law enforcement agencies.
Background of the Investigation
The conspiracy was exposed following investigations into a recent shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s house in Bandra, prompting police to probe deeper into potential threats against the actor.
