Fans of CID, rejoice! One of India’s most beloved television series is making a comeback after a six-year hiatus. The revival was announced on Friday by Sony TV, who shared a thrilling clip featuring the iconic cast members Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, and Daya Shetty.

The promo opens with ACP Pradyuman, portrayed by Shivaji Satam, stepping out of a police car amid heavy rain, holding an umbrella as he rushes toward a bomb site. The camera zooms in on Abhijeet’s intense gaze, played by Aditya Srivastava, while the nostalgic whistle of the show’s theme music plays in the background, heightening the anticipation for loyal fans. Sony TV teased the promo on their official Instagram, stating, “Mark your calendars – 26th October ko hoga ek dhamakedar promo drop.”

Excitement is palpable among fans, with many taking to social media to express their joy. Comments ranged from “Hamara favourite show CID 👏👏👏” to “I am so excited ❤️🔥.” Some fans expressed hopes that the original cast would return in full force, with one saying, “FINALLY!!! Just want the whole cast in it 🥹.” Another added, “Finally Goosebumps. We Are Super Duper Excited For CID Season 2 @thedayashetty.”

Originally airing in 1998, CID concluded in 2018 after a remarkable 20-year run. In a previous interview, Shivaji Satam suggested that the show ended due to conflicts between the producer and the channel, rather than a lack of viewership. He recalled, “We used to ask the channel why they were shutting it down. We were neck-to-neck with KBC. Yes, the show experienced a slight decline in TRPs, but what show doesn’t? Before discontinuing the show, they tampered with its schedule. Originally, it aired at 10 pm, but they started airing it at 10:30 pm or sometimes even at 10:45 pm. This weaned the audience away, or at least they tried to. They likely had a problem with the producer and wanted to replace him. But for us, it wasn’t just about loyalty; it was about friendship. We rose up together. We were a team.”
