New Delhi: In a devastating incident that has sparked outrage among pet owners and animal welfare activists, an elderly couple from Mayur Vihar lost their beloved pet, Milo, under shocking circumstances. The couple entrusted their dog to Paw’s Point, a Noida-based pet boarding facility, before traveling to Vadodara. Upon their return, they were informed that Milo had gone missing, only to later discover that the pet had died after being dragged behind a motorbike.

A Nightmare Unfolds
According to Nivedita Ghosh, who has filed a complaint against the pet boarding owner Swati Sharma, the tragedy began with a phone call. Ms. Sharma contacted the family, offering a free grooming session for Milo, which the Ghosh family accepted. However, the next day—just before the couple’s return to Delhi—Ms. Sharma called again, stating that Milo had escaped while being transported back to the boarding center.

The panicked family rushed to Sector 119, Noida, where Milo had allegedly gone missing, but their search was in vain. Left with no choice, they lodged a complaint with the police, leading to an FIR under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act against the pet boarding.

The Chilling CCTV Footage
During the investigation, police discovered a horrifying CCTV video that revealed the true extent of the negligence. The footage showed two individuals riding a motorbike, dragging Milo by the leash behind them. The Ghosh family claims that one of the riders was an employee of the pet boarding.

Milo was reportedly forced to run alongside the bike but at some point broke free. Tragically, he was found dead the next day, believed to have been killed in a road accident.

Family’s Anguish and Allegations
The Ghosh family is devastated and has accused Paw’s Point of gross negligence. “We trusted them to keep Milo safe, but we found him dead,” Ms. Ghosh said. She added that the pet boarding falsely claimed Milo jumped out of a car, while the video evidence clearly showed him being dragged behind the bike.

Outrage on Social Media
Images of Milo have gone viral on social media, with animal lovers and activists demanding strict action against the pet boarding. Many have expressed their horror at the incident and called for stronger regulations and penalties for animal cruelty.

This tragic case serves as a painful reminder of the vulnerabilities of pets entrusted to boarding facilities and has intensified calls for accountability in the pet care industry.
