New Delhi: A mysterious explosion occurred early this morning near the CRPF school in Delhi’s Rohini area, damaging a section of the school’s wall. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The incident triggered a swift response from multiple security agencies, with teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), and Delhi Police special cell arriving to investigate the cause.
The blast, which happened around 7:47 a.m. in Prashant Vihar, shattered nearby car windows and damaged shop signboards in the vicinity. An eyewitness, who captured a video of smoke rising from the site, recounted, “I heard a loud noise and saw smoke. I don’t know what happened exactly, but soon after, police and ambulances arrived.”
Police Investigation and Initial Findings
Senior police officer Amit Goel confirmed that forensic experts and bomb disposal units were at the scene, with investigations focusing on various angles, including a possible underground sewage malfunction. However, a white powdery residue found at the site has raised suspicion, and forensic teams are analyzing it to determine its composition.
Authorities have registered an FIR under the Explosives Act, with the case now transferred to the special cell of Delhi Police. While initial findings suggest a possible crude bomb, the police have not ruled out a conspiracy. The National Security Guard (NSG) has been informed and may deploy a team to assist in the probe.
CCTV Footage and Crime Scene Cordoned Off
The area around the school has been sealed off, and security personnel are reviewing CCTV footage to identify anyone who may have planted the explosive. “The crime scene has been cordoned off, and mapping of the area is underway. We are examining whether foul play was involved,” a police official stated.
The police and other agencies are also investigating if there is any link to prior incidents or groups operating in the area. “All possibilities are being explored, including sabotage,” a police source added.
