New Delhi: The national capital started Monday with “very poor” air quality, though pollution levels slightly improved from the previous day. The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 327 at 9 am, indicating harmful air conditions.
An AQI reading between 301 and 400 falls under the “very poor” category, which can cause respiratory issues, especially for vulnerable groups. For reference, an AQI of 0-50 is “good,” 51-100 is “satisfactory,” and above 400 is deemed “severe.”
Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 20.4°C, four degrees higher than the season’s average. The weather department forecasts clear skies throughout the day, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 34.2°C.
The humidity level in the morning was reported at 88%, further contributing to discomfort in the city. Authorities have urged residents to limit outdoor activities, especially for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.
