The highly anticipated Dune: Prophecy trailer has arrived, offering a breathtaking glimpse into the ancient sands of Arrakis. Set 10,000 years before the events of the original Dune saga, the series takes viewers on a deep dive into the origins of the Bene Gesserit and a turbulent galaxy on the verge of transformation.

In the trailer, we see Valya and Tula Harkonnen, portrayed by Emily Watson and Olivia Williams, navigating treacherous political landscapes to place a Bene Gesserit sister on the Imperial throne. The infamous sandworms make their ominous presence felt, while there are echoes of the Butlerian Jihad, hinting at the aftermath of humanity’s battle against AI and the outlawing of thinking machines.


Tabu’s Subtle Cameo as Sister Francesca

The trailer also gives fans a fleeting look at Tabu in the role of Sister Francesca, a powerful figure within the Bene Gesserit. Though her appearance is brief, she leaves an impact with her mysterious and graceful presence.

In an interview, Alison Schapker, the showrunner, teased how the series explores a world reeling from the absence of technology. “This is a story where humanity grapples with the void left by the thinking machines,” she said, suggesting an intriguing philosophical undercurrent.


Tabu’s Role in the Series

As Sister Francesca, Tabu plays a character described as “strong, intelligent, and alluring.” According to Variety, Francesca’s return to the Imperial Palace—where she once shared a romantic past with the Emperor—creates tensions that threaten the delicate balance of power. Tabu’s portrayal promises to bring complexity and intrigue to this narrative of love, politics, and ambition.


Cast and Premiere Details

Alongside Tabu, the cast features Travis Fimmel, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, and many more. The series draws inspiration from Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson and promises to delve deep into the Harkonnen family’s dark history.
