NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Thursday the launch of an e-auction for more than 600 mementoes and gifts he has received. The auction includes a remarkable array of items such as elegant sculptures, traditional art, regional artifacts, indigenous crafts, and sports memorabilia from the 2024 Paralympic Games, all of which were presented to him. Those interested can register and take part through the official site, PM Mementos: https://pmmementos.gov.in/.
“Each year, I auction various mementoes from public events. The funds raised from these auctions support the Namami Gange initiative. I am pleased to announce that this year’s auction is now live. I encourage everyone to bid on mementoes that catch your interest!” PM Modi shared in a post on X.
Shekhawat further emphasized in a post on X that it is well known that PM Modi dedicates the souvenirs he receives to public welfare. The auction started on September 17 and will run until October 2, allowing people to not only preserve history but also gain the gratifying feeling of contributing to the public good.
The PM Mementos site is an online auction platform established by the Government of India, allowing registered participants to engage in the auction. People can also view the mementoes at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Jaipur House, New Delhi, from 11 am to 6 pm. Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Namami Gange Project, an initiative by the Central Government aimed at reducing pollution in the Ganga River and reviving it.
