In a swift operation, Belthangady Police, assisted by locals, busted an illegal cattle transport in Malavantige village on Thursday night. Acting on a tip-off, the authorities intercepted two pickup vehicles carrying five cattle along the Elaneeru Didupe Road.
Four individuals, identified as Yathindra (24), Aravind (30), Usman (36), and Arif (27), were arrested for transporting cattle without valid permits.
The police have registered a case against the accused and taken them into custody. The vehicles and cattle have also been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
