New Delhi – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made a confident appearance at the Saini Samaj Dharamshala in Kurukshetra today, just hours before the vote counting for the state assembly elections began. Saini expressed strong assurance that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would continue its governance in the northern state, citing significant development achievements over the past ten years as the cornerstone of BJP’s enduring popularity.
Running for election from the Ladwa constituency in Kurukshetra district, Mr. Saini highlighted the substantial progress made under the leadership of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. “We have accomplished extensive development work in the last decade. The framework established by Chief Minister Khattar will continue to benefit Haryana for many years to come,” he told reporters earlier today. Emphasizing the party’s commitment, he added, “It is our duty to carry this excellent work forward.”
Despite Mr. Saini’s optimism, exit polls are predicting a victory for the Congress in both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. However, historical trends suggest that exit polls may not always accurately reflect the final outcomes.
The Haryana assembly comprises 90 seats, with the counting process set to begin with postal ballots, followed by electronic voting machines (EVMs) thirty minutes later. Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal announced the establishment of 93 counting centers across 22 districts to manage the 90 assembly constituencies efficiently.
As election day progresses, all eyes remain on Haryana, where the BJP seeks to maintain its decade-long hold against a rising challenge from the Congress party, which is anticipated to make significant gains.
