Jerusalem, October 16: The Israeli military has shared a video purportedly showing a Hezbollah tunnel in southern Lebanon, which they claim is far more advanced than the tunnels previously uncovered in Gaza. The footage, released today, showcases what Israel describes as a “hundred-metre” tunnel equipped with iron doors, functioning rooms, a bedroom, bathroom, storage spaces, AK-47 rifles, generators, water tanks, and two-wheelers.

An Israeli soldier narrating the video said, “We are crossing the border into south Lebanon to reveal Hezbollah’s activities, embedding under civilian homes in preparation for an attack similar to the October 7 assault.” The soldier indicated that the Radwan Force, Hezbollah’s elite unit, could potentially use the tunnel to remain concealed for weeks.

The clip also shows the exit of the tunnel, which the soldier claimed is located under a Lebanese civilian house. The timing and exact location of the video’s recording have not been confirmed.

Israel’s military has reported discovering several tunnels under homes in southern Lebanon since launching cross-border operations last month. One of these tunnels reportedly spanned 25 meters and extended into Israeli territory. On Tuesday, Israeli troops captured three Hezbollah fighters from the Radwan unit, stating that they were found hiding in a building filled with weapons and supplies for extended operations.

Israel and Hezbollah have been engaged in clashes along the Lebanese border, a conflict that escalated following the outbreak of war in Gaza after Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7.
