Bengaluru: Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, announced that the state’s upcoming industrial policy for 2025-30 will be developed with input from industry experts, aiming to position Karnataka as a $1 trillion economy.
Addressing the “Transformative Karnataka” event organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in India (AMCHAM), Patil stressed that the new policy would remain flexible and adaptable, with room for amendments as needed to keep pace with changing economic conditions.
The minister called for collaboration across industries to ensure the policy meets real-world needs. “This policy will be crafted in consultation with diverse stakeholders, fostering deep partnerships to close gaps in infrastructure, skill development, and technology adoption,” he said. Government agencies will conduct skill gap studies to align workforce capabilities with market demands.
“These studies will help identify the mismatch between existing skills and employer needs, and targeted training programs will be designed to bridge this gap,” Patil explained, adding that education initiatives will be tailored to reflect the evolving demands of industries.
Patil emphasized the state’s focus on inclusive development by creating opportunities that not only stimulate economic growth but also uplift communities and empower young people.
“Our vision is not just industrial growth but also balanced progress, where industry needs align with citizen aspirations,” Patil concluded.
