KSRTC Deploys Over 2,000 Special Buses for Dasara Festival Travelers

Bengaluru: In anticipation of the Dasara festival, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has organized more than 2,000 special bus services to accommodate tourists visiting Mysuru and passengers enjoying the holiday season.

These special buses will operate from October 9 to 14, connecting Bengaluru with various destinations across Karnataka and neighboring states. Departures will be from Kempegowda Bus Station, Mysuru Road Bus Station, and Shantinagar BMTC Bus Station. Destinations include Dharmasthala, Kukke Subrahmanya, Sringeri, Horanadu, Shivamogga, Madikeri, Mangaluru, Davangere, Gokarna, Kollur, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Karwar, Ballari, Hosapete, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and more.

Additional services will also be available to cities such as Hyderabad, Chennai, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Salem, Tiruchirappalli, Pudukottai, Madurai, Panaji, Shirdi, Pune, Ernakulam, and Palakkad.

As part of the festival arrangements, KSRTC will:

  • Deploy 260 extra buses from Bengaluru’s Mysuru Road Bus Station to Mysuru.
  • Operate 400 additional buses to tourist and religious spots around Mysuru, including Chamundi Hill, KRS Dam/Brindavan Gardens, Srirangapatna, Nanjangud, Madikeri, Mandya, Malavalli, H.D. Kote, Chamarajanagar, Hunsur, K.R. Nagar, and Gundlupet.
  • Provide a total of 660 special buses to enhance connectivity during the festival.

For added convenience, a direct ‘Fly Bus’ service will run from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to Mysuru.

Tour Packages:

From October 3 to 15, KSRTC is offering special one-day tour packages for tourists in Mysuru:

  • Giridarshini Package: Visit Bandipur, Gopalaswamy Hill, Biligirirangana Hill, Nanjangud, and Chamundi Hill.
    • Price: Rs. 400 for adults, Rs. 250 for children.
  • Jaladarshini Package: Explore the Golden Temple (Bylakuppe), Dubare Forest, Nisargadhama, Raja’s Seat, Harangi Reservoir, and KRS Dam.
    • Price: Rs. 450 for adults, Rs. 300 for children.
  • Devadarshini Package: Travel to Nanjangud, Bluff, Mudukutore, Talakadu, Somanathapura, and Srirangapatna.
    • Price: Rs. 300 for adults, Rs. 200 for children.

These tours will depart from Mysuru in the morning, cover all listed destinations, and return by evening. Tickets can be booked online through the official KSRTC website.
