Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced that 2,000 additional buses will be deployed from October 30 to November 1 to meet the high demand for travel during the Deepavali festival. These special services will cater to both intra- and interstate travelers, officials confirmed on Saturday.
Following the festive period, return buses from various destinations back to Bengaluru will operate from November 3 to 4.
KSRTC’s expanded services from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda Bus Station will connect travelers to popular locations, including Dharmasthala, Kukkesubramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Shringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and more.
Additionally, Mysuru Road Bus Station will offer exclusive services to cities such as Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar, and Madikeri (Mercara).
Premier buses from Shanthinagar TTMC will connect travelers to southern destinations, including Madurai, Kumbakonam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Calicut, and other cities across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
The KSRTC also confirmed that special buses will be available from taluk and district bus stands within its jurisdiction based on passenger demand. These efforts aim to ensure smooth travel for residents and tourists celebrating Deepavali across the state and beyond.
