ED Attaches ₹300 Crore in MUDA Scam Linked to CM Siddaramaiah

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached 142 immovable properties worth nearly ₹300 crore, allegedly linked to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

The investigation stems from a FIR registered by Mysuru Lokayukta Police under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860, and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Allegations Against CM Siddaramaiah

Special court orders probe into MUDA site allotment to CM’s wife, BM Parvathi.

Siddaramaiah is accused of using political influence to secure 14 prime sites worth ₹56 crore for his wife as compensation for land acquired by MUDA.

The original land acquisition price was reportedly ₹3,24,700, but the compensation sites were worth ₹56 crore.

Political Fallout

Reacting to the developments, Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra called the ED’s action a “major victory”, claiming that the investigation has exposed large-scale corruption in the state government.

With the Lokayukta and ED intensifying their crackdowns, the case is expected to have major political implications in Karnataka.
