Lucknow : A 30-year-old delivery man was reportedly murdered by two individuals when he arrived to deliver an iPhone worth ₹ 1.5 lakh, according to police on Monday.
They stated that his body was later found dumped in the Indira Canal, prompting the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to assist in the recovery efforts. Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh revealed that Gajanan, a resident of Chinhat, had placed an order for the iPhone from Flipkart with a cash-on-delivery payment method.
“On September 23, delivery driver Bharat Sahu from Nishatganj went to deliver the phone to Gajanan’s location, where he was killed by Gajanan and an accomplice. After strangling Sahu, they concealed his body in a sack and disposed of it in the Indira Canal,” he stated.
When Sahu failed to return home for two days, his family filed a missing persons report at Chinhat police station on September 25. In their investigation, police reviewed Sahu’s call logs and traced a connection to Gajanan, leading them to his friend Akash.
