Mandya: Mandya, often celebrated as Karnataka’s sugar bowl, is now turning into a hub of opportunity with the grand launch of the ‘Mandya to India’ job fair, spearheaded by Union Minister for Heavy Industry and Steel, H. D. Kumaraswamy. This major event, scheduled for October 18-19, aims to bridge the gap between talented youth and top employers across the country.
Taking place at Sir M Visvesvaraya Stadium, the job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, featuring more than 150 companies and offering over 3,000 job opportunities.
Kumaraswamy expressed his commitment to empowering local youth:
“There is no shortage of talent in Mandya district. With excellent educational institutions and thousands of graduates each year, our youth are ready to excel. This initiative is a step toward providing them with the employment they deserve.”
The minister further shared that he frequently receives requests from unemployed youth seeking work.
“Many young people visit my home daily, hoping for jobs. While I’ve tried my best to help, large-scale employment solutions were needed. Through this job fair, I believe thousands will find meaningful employment.”
The fair has attracted several prestigious companies such as Mecon, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), Lloyds Metals, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), and Jindal Steel. These organizations will conduct direct recruitment drives, giving candidates the chance to secure positions on the spot.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Heavy Industry and Steel, along with district administration representatives, have been working to ensure the event’s success. Volunteers and officials will assist attendees throughout the process, connecting them with recruiters and helping them match their qualifications to suitable roles.
This job fair marks a significant step toward boosting employment and creating new avenues of growth for the youth of Mandya and beyond.
