Mandya: Residents of Bharati Nagar in Mellahalli village, Maddur taluk, raised objections on Friday when a group of Muslims gathered to offer namaz in a private shed owned by a local resident.
The prayer meeting took place in a shed belonging to Kareem, a villager. However, other residents claimed that individuals from outside the village had assembled there without proper permission.
Concerned about the situation, the villagers filed a complaint with the Panchayat Development Officer (PDO). Additionally, some Hindu groups voiced their objections to the gathering. In response, police personnel were deployed to the shed on Friday to maintain peace and order. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of KM Doddi police station.
