KANPUR: A couple in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has swindled numerous elderly individuals out of ₹ 35 crore by falsely promising to rejuvenate them using an “Israel-made time machine.”
Rajeev Kumar Dubey and his wife Rashmi Dubey established a therapy center called Revival World in Kanpur, claiming to possess a machine imported from Israel that could turn a 60-year-old individual into a 25-year-old, according to the police. They assured clients that they could restore youthful vitality through “oxygen therapy.”
Living in a rental property, the couple misled people by stating that their rapid aging was due to air pollution and that the “oxygen therapy” would significantly improve their condition within a few months.
“They marketed packages costing ₹ 6,000 for 10 sessions and ₹ 90,000 for a three-year plan,” reported police official Anjali Vishwakarma.
One victim, Renu Singh, has lodged a police complaint, claiming she was defrauded of ₹ 10.75 lakh and asserting that hundreds more had been tricked out of around ₹ 35 crore.
Following her complaint, the police have initiated a cheating investigation and are currently searching for the couple, who are believed to have fled the country.
