Nirmala Sitharaman's 'Dahi-Cheeni' Moment With President Murmu Before Budget Presentation

New Delhi: Ahead of presenting the Union Budget 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. As part of tradition, the President offered her ‘dahi-cheeni’ (curd and sugar), a customary ritual believed to bring good luck and success.

Accompanied by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary and senior officials from the Finance Ministry, Sitharaman was seen discussing key aspects of the Budget with President Murmu.

A Tradition Before Every Budget
