New Delhi – In a shocking case of alleged medical negligence, a 25-year-old deaf and mute man, Rohitash Kumar, was declared dead by doctors in Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan, but showed signs of life just before his cremation. The incident has led to the suspension of three doctors and the initiation of a formal investigation.
Declared Dead, Revives at Cremation Ground
Kumar, a resident of a local shelter home with no immediate family, was admitted to BDK Hospital on Thursday after his health deteriorated. Despite emergency treatment, doctors declared him dead at 2 PM, and his body was moved to the mortuary.
The situation took a dramatic turn when Kumar began breathing as his body was being prepared for the funeral pyre at the crematorium. An ambulance was summoned immediately, and Kumar was rushed back to the hospital, where he is now in stable condition in the ICU.
Action Taken Against Medical Staff
District collector Ramavtar Meena suspended three medical professionals: Dr. Yogesh Jakhar, Dr. Navneet Meel, and PMO Dr. Sandeep Pachar. A committee has been established to investigate the negligence, and the medical department secretary has been notified.
Authorities Respond
Revenue officer Mahendra Mund and Deputy Director of Social Justice Department Pawan Poonia visited the hospital to assess the situation. Officials have assured strict action against those responsible while confirming Kumar’s condition has stabilized.
