New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his sympathies following the passing of Ratan Tata, a leading industrialist in India, referring to him as “a visionary business leader, a caring person, and an exceptional human being.”
“He provided steady leadership to one of India’s oldest and most esteemed business entities. Moreover, his impact extended well beyond the corporate world. His humility, kindness, and steadfast commitment to improving society endeared him to many,” PM Modi shared in a post on X, previously known as Twitter.
Ratan Tata, who was 86, passed away in Mumbai today after a prolonged illness.
In his tribute, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekharan described him as “a truly remarkable leader whose invaluable contributions have influenced not only the Tata Group but also the very essence of our nation.”
“Mr. Tata’s commitment to philanthropy and societal development has positively impacted millions. His initiatives in areas such as education and healthcare have created a lasting legacy that will benefit future generations,” he remarked.
