He reached his century in just 40 balls, scoring 111 off 47 deliveries, which included eight sixes and 11 fours, partnering with captain Suryakumar Yadav to add 173 runs off 70 balls (Yadav scored 75). Suryakumar contributed with five sixes and eight fours in his innings of 75 from 35 balls, effectively supporting Samson.
