Ananthapuram, Andhra Pradesh: Six factory workers were hospitalized on Friday in Ananthapuram district after inhaling toxic fumes at a camphor production facility, police reported. The affected workers are currently in stable condition.
The incident took place at a factory in Kothapalli, Garladinne Mandal, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Venkateshwarlu. Workers were reportedly welding a radiator when fumes from chemicals caused them to lose consciousness. Four additional workers, who attempted to assist, were also exposed and required medical attention.
The factory management immediately transported all six workers to KIMS Savera Hospital in Ananthapur, where they are receiving ventilator support. Authorities have initiated a detailed investigation to determine the cause of the incident. Further updates are awaited.
