Davanagere: A potentially dangerous incident was averted on Saturday morning when a tanker transporting ethanol overturned into a ditch along National Highway-48, near Apoorva Restaurant on the city’s outskirts. The driver, displaying quick reflexes, leaped out of the vehicle in time and escaped without injury.
The tanker, en route from Mumbai to industries in Bengaluru, had recently been added to a private company’s fleet. It overturned after the driver lost control while navigating the highway.
Authorities Respond Quickly to Prevent Mishap
As ethanol began leaking from the overturned tanker, the Fire and Emergency Services swiftly intervened by spraying condensation liquid to prevent the flammable substance from igniting. Thanks to their prompt action, no untoward incident occurred, averting a major disaster.
Later, the authorities deployed a crane to lift the tanker and clear the highway. The mishap took place within the Davanagere Rural police jurisdiction, and further investigations are underway
