Elon Musk has announced that he will attend a rally hosted by Donald Trump on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, the location of the former president’s first assassination attempt. In a post late Thursday on his social media platform X, Musk expressed his support, saying, “I will be there to support!” in response to Trump’s announcement about returning to the site.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX, has already invested millions in Trump’s third presidential campaign, with a super PAC he established spending $71 million primarily on canvassing and field operations to encourage voter turnout. Trump’s rally at the Butler fairgrounds is scheduled exactly one month before Election Day. During a previous rally there in July, a gunman shot Trump, grazing his ear, and fatally wounded firefighter Corey Comperatore, who tried to protect his family, while also seriously injuring two others.
The powerful image of a bloodied Trump raising his fist and shouting “Fight!” following the shooting has become an iconic symbol of the campaign, featured on T-shirts, cars, and across social media platforms.
