Lucknow: In a heartwarming display of talent and creativity, underprivileged children in Lucknow crafted stunning bridal wear inspired by renowned designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. This inspiring initiative was led by Innovation for Change, a Lucknow-based NGO dedicated to supporting over 400 children from impoverished backgrounds. The children, guided by the NGO, used donated fabrics to recreate Sabyasachi-inspired designs, showcasing their skills and vision in a video that quickly captured public admiration.
The NGO recently shared a video on Instagram featuring the young designers proudly modeling their creations. “These kids come from extremely poor and helpless families. They create designer dresses through their creativity, sorting through donated clothes from locals,” the NGO explained. The video, filmed by a group of 15-year-old aspiring filmmakers from the NGO, not only highlights the children’s craftsmanship but also their determination to explore filmmaking and refine their artistic skills.
The video quickly went viral, and among those who noticed it was Sabyasachi Mukherjee himself. The designer expressed his admiration by leaving a heart emoji in the comments and even reshared the video on his Instagram account, giving a boost to the children’s morale and bringing attention to their work.
The initiative received an outpouring of support from social media users. One comment read, “More power to these kids… lots of love and blessings,” while another noted, “This beautiful portrayal of Indian bridal beauty shows that elegance isn’t about labels but about the spirit and authenticity each person brings.”
This project stands as a testament to the talent and resilience of these young designers, who, with limited resources, were able to produce fashion that celebrates India’s rich cultural heritage. Their efforts remind us that art and creativity can flourish even in the most challenging circumstances.
