Urvashi Rautela Responds to Dabidi Dibidi Backlash: 'It's Meant to Be a Massy Song

The peppy track Dabidi Dibidi from Daaku Maharaaj, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela, has stirred up controversy, receiving criticism for its bold choreography. However, Urvashi has now addressed the backlash in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Urvashi shared that the song was specially crafted for Balakrishna’s fans, saying, “Every lyric, every word is tailored for Balayya’s fans. The vocals and audio were designed to reflect their energy and mindset.” She explained that her collaboration with Master Shekar, with whom she’s worked multiple times before, followed their usual choreography process.

Reflecting on the rehearsals, Urvashi said everything went smoothly. “During rehearsals, there was nothing out of the ordinary. Everything was under control and went exactly as planned. That’s why I was surprised when the negative response came in so suddenly.”

The former Miss Diva Universe further emphasized that Dabidi Dibidi was always intended as a “massy” song. “It’s supposed to be peppy and energetic. We never expected such feedback. We truly thought it would be received positively,” she added.

Despite the unexpected reactions, Urvashi expressed her openness to constructive criticism. “Since day one, I’ve kept my identity and professionalism separate. Criticism doesn’t overshadow my passion. I embrace feedback and stay mindful of my craft.”

Daaku Maharaaj, directed by Bobby Kolli, premiered on January 12 and also marked Bobby Deol’s debut in Telugu cinema. The film has been making headlines, with Dabidi Dibidi becoming a major topic of discussion in the Tollywood world.
