Deepinder Goyal, the co-founder and CEO of Zomato, swapped his executive role for a delivery bike to gain firsthand insight into the company’s operations. Donning a Zomato uniform, he was joined by his wife, Gia Goyal (formerly known as Grecia Munoz), as they spent a day delivering food orders.
Sharing their experience on Instagram, Mr. Goyal wrote, “Went out to deliver orders a couple of days ago, teaming up with Gia Goyal.” The accompanying photos captured moments of the couple navigating the streets, checking their phones for delivery locations, and interacting with customers.
He also posted a short video reel showing them riding through the streets of Gurugram, captioned, “Loving delivering food to our customers and enjoying the ride.” The photo post garnered over 28,000 likes, while the reel received nearly 12,000 likes.
While many followers praised the couple’s hands-on approach, some offered critical feedback. One user commented, “Not sure about this. But you definitely love the whopping platform fee you charge from your loving customers. Nice PR stunt.” Another suggested that to truly understand the challenges faced by delivery executives, Mr. Goyal should spend an entire month in the role.
